Jimmie O. Keenan (MSN, RN, FACHE, FAAN) a U.S. Army veteran with 30 years of experience in healthcare administration and operational leadership, is Senior Vice President of Enterprise Clinic Operations for WellMed Medical Management. Keenan oversees the more than 100 owned and operated senior-focused primary and multi-specialty medical centers in Texas and Florida. Keenan administers the day-to-day operations with responsibilities for membership, revenue and market growth of the 25- year-old physician-led enterprise.
Keenan retired from the military in December 31, 2015 at the rank of Major General as Deputy Commanding General for the U.S. Army Medical Command and Chief, U.S. Army Nurse Corps. Her awards and decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal, among others. During her distinguished military career, Keenan served as a nurse corps officer; Chief Nurse/Executive Officer for the 67th CSH at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo; Army Congressional Fellow for U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison; Deputy Commander for Nursing at the Dewitt Army Community Hospital in Virginia; Chief of Staff for the U.S. Army Warrior Transition Command at the Pentagon; Commander, Evans Army Community Hospital at Fort Carson, Colorado; Commanding General of the U.S. Army Public Health Command in Maryland; and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Southern Regional Medical Command.
Keenan is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and a member of the Order of Military Medical Merit. Keenan is a distinguished military graduate from Henderson State University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Nursing. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing Administration from the Medical College of Georgia and a Master in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.
