US Army South’s LTC Troy Creason & CW4 Jeffrey Manninen

LTC Creason was born in Missouri, the son of a U.S. Army Food Service Sergeant Major.  He graduated from the United States Military Academy–West Point in 1995 and served for five years as a U.S. Army Combat Engineer Officer.  In 2004 he earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Missouri and entered the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps.  In 2010, he completed a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Tennessee and is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine.

LTC Creason’ s recent assignments include serving as the Deputy Commander in a veterinary field detachment deployed to Iraq and executive officer for the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps Chief.  He currently serves as the U.S. Southern Command Veterinarian, assigned at U.S. Army South in San Antonio, Texas.  LTC Creason is married with five children.

 

Chief Warrant Officer Four Jeffrey Manninen assumed the Command Food Advisor position for U.S. Army South, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, on March 30, 2017. He entered the Iowa Army National Guard in 1985 and completed his Basic and Advance Individual Training as a food service specialist in Fort Dix, NJ. Chief Warrant Officer Four Jeffrey Manninen entered active duty in January 1993 and was commissioned as a Warrant Officer in May 2003.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from Thomas Edison State College, NJ and a Master’s of Business Administration from Columbia College, MO.

He has served in a variety of leadership positions to include: BDE Food Advisor, Division Food Advisor, Warrant Officer Instructor / Writer and Theater Senior Food Advisor. His overseas assignments include one tour in Germany, participation in Operation Enduring Freedom and he is a Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom (two tours). Prior to his current assignment, he was assigned to 1st BDE 10th Mountain Division, Ft Drum, NY; HQs 10th Mountain Division, Ft Drum; Army Logistics University, Ft Lee, VA and most recently served as the Senior Food Advisor for 21 Theater Sustainment Command, Panzer Kaserne, Germany.
